Did you delete the thread having to do with a website about Nagoya? Why in the world would you do something like that? I have nothing to do with site, but...I can't fathom why you would do such a thing. How...odd.

Now, Akahebi...wouldn't that just get this thread deleted too???? My point in posting this was...to get a response from someone at GP. Seems that isn't going to happen? Not sure what other option(s) I have.
oh lord now I really have to know what website it was.............
its gonna kill me
give us a hint person.......... just a little one...
maybe someone can guess hehe :o

Now, Eku-chan, don't get yourself all worked up ;)
My point was -- the post was benign. I don't know, but I see other sites listed/mentioned here as well. The reason I even bothered replying to the thread was because I thought the site had value. Apparently, other people disagree? Vying for advertising dollars (yen as it were)? I don't understand.
As I said, it's a website about Nagoya. And, no matter how brilliant your idea is, Akehebi [no, really; it is :) ], it would simply resign this thread to a similar fate. My whole point was (and still is)...
WHY??????

admins at GP are a sad lot to say the least, they let nigerian email scams, and MLM posts yet, a valid service spefically relating to JP gets RM'd... what can you do....
remove the DOTS for valid URL....admin cant figure out whether or not to allow posting of urls...
Just like they cant change thier email template for thier subsidiary companies email newsletters...sad work boys.

Having lived in this area now almost 5 years, I'm surprised to read this! Also, having traveled many, many, many places within Japan, I can't see that Nagoya has any more or any less than the average bigger city in Japan (where does the idea come from??). Perhaps I'm not privy to such things!?!? And, after all, I prefer the Marriott and Hilton ;) (kidding, kidding)
What fun stuff is there to do here? Many things...just like any other city: museums (Tokugawa Art Museum, Nagoya Boston Museum of Fine Arts, etc., etc., etc.), restaurants, shopping...if that's your thing (Sakae, miles of ridiculous underground malls that confused me for a good long time, the Towers, etc.), parks/gardens (Shirotori Garden, Meijo-koen, etc.), "attractions" (Meiji Mura, Little World...outside Nagoya in Inuyama though), Higashiyama Zoo, temples/shrines (Atsuta Jinja, Osu Kannon, Higashi Betsuin, Nittaiji, Koshoji, Kasadera Kannon, Arako Kannon, etc.; I like temples and shrines!), Nagoya-jo, the Port area, ETC. Perhaps more important than any of these things, because of its location, it's close to so many other places (Mie's Ise-shima area, Kyoto/Nara, etc.).
If you want to know more (I trust I have too many "etc."s in here, stop in the Tourist Information Center in the middle of Nagoya Station. Now, there seem to be quite a few of them -- one for EXPO, one for Nagoya city, one for JR. Heck, stop in all of them -- you'll get lots of info.
Now, as for the love hotels...I'll have to do some more research to give you more info. on that topic. My limited experience tells me...Fushimi is best for those (but, again, I'm more the 5-star hotel kind of girl!)
Cheers --
i dunno if its more or less........ as I only pass through on the toumei.....
but my impression of nagoya has been this (personal impression ne..... no offence pls nagoya lovers..)
you zoom along the expressway..... (from kobe direction ne...) there is this long downhill..... suddenly there is a big wide flat place ahead of you (nagoya) and on each side of the expressway tons and tons of love hotels.... some shaped like ships, some shaped like fairy castles, alladin castles, french villas ...more ships.... then there is nagoya city....
after that another uphill looms ahead.... and again...a veritable slew of love hotels..... ships, castles, villas etc etc..... then you are up in the hills and its all behind you.
i am sure my view of nagoya will change after having actually visited it.............. but up to now thats all I have seen...gomen :p
you are right.... its gone... pooof... vamos.... tis nada... its a deceased thread, tis pushing up daisies ....... (no it isn't pining for the fjords...... waaa)
baffled as how a hello thread could have been offensive....
