Never heard of an MBA done online but FWIW Temple University offers an MBA at its campus in Tokyo. Takes 3 years and costs a shitload of money. Ranked #5 business school in the US for its MBA program.

if your not australian u will have to pay upfront between $AU1600-2000 per subject. usually there are 12 subjects spread over two three-trimester years or standard two-semester years but are flexible.

here is a list

australian unis are covered by legislation which guarentees academic standards etc (but not international reputation of course). its not like the US where any man and his dog can start a 'university'.

Hi all

I am also finishing up a distance MBA. It has been quite a gruelling year and a half (and I have yet to begin my dissertation), but I have already leveraged the program into getting a new position.

So, I certainly recommend the experience!

I'm not American, but I would probably choose to study at an American university over an Australian one; there are many American universities (many more than exist in Australia) that are fully accredited, world-class facilities with top-notch resources and the best faculty money can buy. That's part of the reason many more American universities have international reputations as opposed to Australian ones. A degree from an American university may carry more weight in that regard.

I'm quite interested in this topic too, i'm heading for japan in July and after a year; either going back to aus to persue my MBA, going to Europe to do my MBA, or possibly doing it online. In all honesty, do you guys think an online MBA is seen to the employer as holding equal weight to an MBA taught on campus?

Check out the Open University of the UK.

They dont have a branch on japan, so you wont have hands-on help, but I think you can still arrange to study in Japan.

When in doubt about what MBA to do, do a google search and find more about which MBA is best. Others here have posted some better links, but here are some:

You can say what it is all you like Sir, but at the end of the day, an MBA degree seems to be the most prestigious form of spam there is.

Pretty expensive for a piece of paper worth less than a can of Spam, which at least you can eat if you are hungry. Take a look at how wonderful these degrees actually are:

It looks like the solution for parents should be less degrees, more cans of spam. Even the academics are saying this:
