Hello everyone,

Been lurking around for a long time, and found this forum quite informative, even when opinions about Japan go from one extreme to the other. Unfortunately I couldn't contribute with anything remotely useful since I haven't been there yet.

But now there is a slight chance for me to stay in JP for up to a year, yet I need some quite specific information, so if anyone can help me in any way, I'll be eternally grateful!

Can please anyone give me a hint which universities (preferably, but absolutely not necessarily in Kanagawa and surrounding area) have a department dedicated to printing technology, "graphic arts" as they would call it somewhere in the West. Though please take the word "art" very loosely, because painting on canvas or dabbling with charcoal isn't exactly what I was thinking about - much more precise would be the definition of "graphic engineering".

Even with the help of my girlfriend who lives there (and is Japanese, so language is not a problem), we couldn't find much by almighty Google. Only this one: http://www.t-kougei.ac.jp/e/engineering/mediaimage.html

And even that one by description doesn't make me 100% sure it's what I had in mind.

I have a M.Sci. degree in Graphic engineering and design and this is for purposes of getting a grant for scientific research. Before I get the grant, I need to contact appropriate departments and find someone who would be willing to be my mentor and help me with research. This is the most important precondition to applying for the grant in the first place.

Thanks for taking the time to read my story :)
