Hey everyone,
I`m Australian girl new to Japan and finding the money isn`t as great as I thought and would love to find private lessons. The only problem is I live in the country and don`t know that many people yet. I have put my details on websites like findateacher, 121sensei and a couple of others but nothing yet. I work at a government school and it is ok with my company. If anyone out there has any good ideas for me I would really appreciate it.

Thanks heaps and heaps xxxxxxxx.

if you dont know that many people yet...try to meet some. sounds obvious but often when people get to a country with a very different language its hard to make friends/contacts etc.

try and get some dfrinkin parties happening with the school teachers/staff and ask them/admin if you can post "tutor available" notices cos if its a high/junior high school - tons of those kids are paying stacks for english lessons at private companies. just check there is no conflict with your company first!!

If you want to put up some cash in advance, you can print up some flyers and go to your local newspaper distributor and they will put them in the newspaper for you....for a same fee of course.

Another option in to put a flyer up on the local community boards at City Hall and so on.
