Hi,

I've been in Japan for many years and was one of the unfortunates who foolishly signed up for National Health. My employer doesn't pay my insurance and the fact that I'm on Global and pay for myself was not enough
for the ward office to let me off of their "plan." Basically, they've been extorting money out of me because the arbitrary decision of their own officials. Anyway, I'm leaving Japan for good and will pay all of my residence tax, fair is fair, but I do not want to pay the health insurance. Will I need a new passport to come back to the country for a visit or will insurance not have the same repercussions as not paying residence tax.

Any advice on this would be much appreciated.
