Does anyone know where to buy drawing and painting materials? Somebody told me in Ueno. I`ve been there ones but no good luck. Any good ideas?

Many small art/ printing shops in little arcades, Ueno, Kanada Jombocho, Soto Kanda, you just have to walk around.

Can always try Tokyu Hands Shibuya - has an excellent floor of printing and art supplies, albeit at a a price.

Depends on what you're looking for... and what you consider 'cheap'...

I usually shop at Sekaido in Shinjuku. They have almost everything, and prices aren't so bad. They have a tiny shop in Yokohama, mostly dealing in graphic supplies.

Brushes, paint and easels are all pretty reasonable. Canvases and paper are pricey.

The weird thing is that they don't do special orders. I've had to deal directly with manufacturers for some stuff, even though they carry most of the line.

Thanks for the help! I just got started with paper and charcoal. I don`t know where it is gonna end. That`s the excitement of beginning a new project.
Is there toolshops for rent in Tokyo? I`d like to move on the bigger things and furniture in the future.
