Having just watched the show "The Practice" I have a question for all. Do you think it is right to withhold information regarding a person's life or death during a trial?

For those that didn't see the show. It is about Jimmy disregarding a direct instruction from their client not to disclose the information that a child had a condition that required immediate treatment or he could die. Jimmy told the family and the child was saved. The Practice was fired and then a coworker reported Jimmy to the bar.

Personally I would think that a life and death situation should override client priviledge.

What do you think? What would you do if you were the lawyer?

For crying out loud it was just a TV drama so get over it. Of course the lawyer did the right thing.

Lots of people like dogs, but not everyone wants use a pooper scooper.

If I were a lawyer I would do whatever was in my clients' best interest, and not worry about any consequences for anyone else.

But then, if I were an ax-murderer, I would take out the old double-bit and clear everyone out of the supermarket.

People ought to think about their career choices carefully, eh?
