I was watching one of her "films" the other day. In one scene she snorted a line of ____ off a girls back, vomited it up into a funnel connected to another girls rectal cavity, and then that girl crapped it out directly into Iijima Ai's mouth.
In another scene she used chopsticks to snare and eat some dude's pubic lice.
Now I like a good porno as much as the next guy (and this WAS a good one; probably the best I've ever seen) but are these really the values we want young girls to be emulating?

Westsan, haven't you ever heard of Traci Lords? She's an American porn star who has gone mainstream in recent years. This phenomenon isn't so surprising or uncommon anymore, and certainly not unique to Japan.

Senator, I'd hardly say Traci Lords has gone mainstream in recent years. As far as I know she hasn't been in anything worth seeing since 'Cry Baby', and that was over a decade ago.
She certainly isn't as ubiquitous in the media as Ai Iijima is.
Ijima is indeed horrible. I've seen her up close and in person and she's NOT one of those stars who looks better off camera. Aside from being not very nice looking, she's charmless and vulgar and has an annoying habit of keeping her mouth hanging open all the time like a slack-jawed yokel. Perhaps the muscles have been permanently stretched from overuse...

The Italian porn star La Cicolina (sp?) went into politics and was quite sucessful for a while.
Yeah, AI Iijima sure is a useless waste of space on the air. She isn't that attractive and whenever she is on one of those talk shows all she can do is nod in agreement with whatever everyone else is saying. Still, I've noticed that just about all talents on Japanese TV act like that, so maybe its not fair to single her out for condemnation. Almost all of the women just smile and nod on the shows and are only hired because they have big tits or a cute face. Almost all of the men are ignorant loudmouths whose egos are bloated by the fact that they have chicks with big tits and cute faces smiling and nodding to everything they say at work all the time. There are a few talents who are actually funny or intelligent, but they seem to be the exception rather than the rule.

Famous women = big tits/cute face/annoying laugh or habit, coupled with obsequious smiling, nodding and "sou desu ne"-ing at the appropriate cue.
Famous men = ignorant lidmouths with no real talent, other than just bossing around and sexually harassing the big-titted/cute/annoying women who are always nodding to them.
