I will be moving to the city of Niihama soon and I was wondering if you can buy henna (plant based hairdye originated in India also used to make temporary tattoos) in Japan??
does anyone know ???

Yes it is available. Some of the big department stores have basement shopping centres within which is a chain of natural foods/ products that keep it. Sorry can' t remember name at this moment,

Remembered! - Natural House - HO is in Kobe, branches all over Japan. Lots of goodies there.

I was in Loft the other day, and they had a henna display. A mixture of henna shampoos and the actual powdered heena root. That was on the first/ground floor of Loft in Kichijoji, but presumeably most of the Loft stores will be carrying it.

Yes, you can buy henna in Japan: black, brown, red and yellow. One brand I like is Rainbow Henna by the company Nadja, you can buy it at cosmetics shops
