Can anyone tell me where I can buy Japanese style Xmas cards to impress the people back home??

Try the Oriental Bazarr in Omotesando....also saw some in Yurindo's stationary section and also in National Azabu in Hiroo.

Is there a Tokyu Hands near you? They have plenty with traditional design.

Also large bookstores with stationery sections like Maruzen, Yurindo (mentioned above) etc.

Or you can go to the stationery department in the large department stores. Examples in Tokyo: Isetan and Takashimaya in Shinjuku. I'm not sure if these examples are useful for you, as you do not specify where you live.
