internet/cell phone cancellation

I don't know if this is the correct forum for this question so excuse me if I'm out of place here.

I will be leaving Japan soon and was thinking of doing nothing about my cell phone and wireless internet plans. Should I bother with the cancellation of these plans? Will they track me down do you think? Do you know what people usually do?

Thanks for the help...I can't read Japanese so I can't tell what my contracts say. I'm sure there is a fee for cancellation.

Do the proper, responsible thing, and cancel your accounts.

If you can't read the contract, find someone who can. If they are on your credit card or bank account, you can incur extra billing until you do cancel them.

They might not track YOU down, but your behaviour will sure make it harder for people who follow to rent phones and pay for internet accounts.
