I'm not really sure what school to go to. I've spent nearly a year trying to find the best non-traditional path, and I'm still not 100% sure. However, the best option for me appears to be the KCP language school in Shinjuku; I will get US credit and US federal financial aid. It might result in me needing an extra year, but f*** it.

However, for a year, I will first attend KCP in Tokyo. I like the idea of being able to devote a year to language entirely and get US credit while I'm doing it (not to mention have a hell of a good time.) After the year is up, I'll be able to apply to either US or Japanese Uni's.

I have thought about it for a long time, I think this is the right decision.

look apu up on the internet anyway. it's right outside of fukouka which is a ton funner than tokyo and there are all sorts of programs and courses that would help you in no matter which university you decide to go to get you degree in the end.
