Just a minor quibble here, but why is former abductee Hitomi Soga not referred to by the Press as 'Hitomi Jenkins'?

She has been, after all, married to Sgt. Jenkins (the US Army deserter) for a number of years, and neither N. Korea nor Japan are known for their independent-minded, feminist women...therefore, unless she specifically states otherwise, should she be called Mrs. Jenkins??

Maybe, by using the name Hitomi Soga, rather than Hitomi Jenkins, more public sympathy towards her plight can be roused.

Yeah, that could be...she is more "Japanese" that way, even if she married some Jug-eared foreigner...lol!

Could be that Japan hasn't recognised their marriage yet. The same thing happened when the first four abductees arrived - at first the wives were referred to by their maiden names (from memory Mrs Hasuike was Miss Hashimoto) before they went to their local ward office. Just a thought. It'll be interesting to see if she can change it (wonder if the ward office staff can go to the hospital??)
