I had a small traffic accident about 2 weeks ago. My car was ok but the other guys car got a small scratch. (We were both moving)...
I don't have collision insurance, so i'll have to pay the full cost. I can live with that.
But since I don't have collision insurance, the other guy's insurance company has been coming down really hard on me. Of course there are a lot of details, but the main thing is they gave me this huge repair estimate and insist I pay 100% of the damage.
Other things they do make me suspicious. For example, they keep coming up with bizarre reasons why it's all my fault. These reasons then evaporate when I question them. So I get the feeling they're not being completely up front and just hope they can get me to cave in quickly.
If you want to hearmore details please ask me, but my question is: does anyone know if there is a legal aid society, small claims court or anything like that where I can learn about my rights? Like I said, I feel like they're trying to ream me because I don't have anyone to speak on my behalf.
