Hi, I don't know if this topic has been discussed thoroughly in other threads, if so... kindly point it out to me, would appreciate it very much.
My question is about Kousei nenkin hoken for foreigners, or the pension insurance system for employed persons. I have been searching the internet and mostly, I read that it is mandatory for employees in private companies. But then, I would find some posts from some foreigners saying that after switching jobs or talking with their employers, they were able to squirm their way out of the system. So, does that mean that paying the pension premiums would depend on the company or employer? Or would it be illegal if we opt not to pay?
Lately I have seen may news coverage about the pension system, and I just realized how unfair it is for gaijins to be obliged to pay, unless you are sure you will be staying here in Japan for 25 years or so... or if you can get permanent residency.
Well, I would like to hear your thoughts or inputs... thanks!
