I just moved to Kanagawa recently and I was wondering if anybody knew of any outdoor basketball courts (ie playground courts). I know it's kind of a longshot but hey, it doesn't hurt to ask...
Also, anybody wanting to ask for new members to join basketball teams/leagues in Kanagawa please feel free to post here

I'm in Kanagawa too....if you get the hook-up, then send me an email because I'm looking for some on court action as well.

What part of Kanagawa are we talking about? In Futako-Tamagawa, just across the Tama river, there is SABA, which runs some open basketball games on the weekend. It's on the Den-en-Toshi line, about 20 minutes from Shibuya or 15 minutes from Azamino. And this will surely ruin my rep as a naysayer, but here is the website! http://www.geocities.com/satatokyo/
Ok guys I live in Kanagawa prefecture as well and I'm trying to get a group of guys together to play on Thu or Fri. I've heard about the SATA Tokyo as well but its a bit expensive and skill level was not really worth the cost.
Anyways if you are interested in meeting up please leave me your email addresses at

I realize this thread is quite old, but now that the weather is starting to warm up I'd like to know if anyone is interested in playing outdoor or indoor basketball in Kanagawa.
If so, and you know of a decent court in the area please post the location. Even if there isn't a regular game there now, let's try to organize something.

Have you heard of Hiratuska? That is where the Bellmare soccer team is from. They play at a large park called sogo kouen and there are basketball courts there, outdoors and free. The only problem is that it is a bit seperated from the eki, but you could take a bus or walk it in about 20 minutes or so.
