Hi,

My name is Mark. I am 27 years old and I currently work in the City of London as a Business Travel Consultant for a major European Bank which has many dealings with the Asian market.

I am married to a Japanese lady who has family in the Nagoya area and we are considering going out there to live & work sometime towards the beginning of next year. My level of Japanese is pretty basic to say the least!

Please can anybody out there who may be interested in employing an English speaking resident of the Uk contact me on flyingkiwiuk@aol.com I have about 8 years experience in the Travel industry and therefore consider myself an asset to any potential employers. I am also willing to try my hand at something new so don't be afraid to mail me which any other offers. I am aware that there may be more opportunties for teaching English for example?

Please get in touch if you read this. Even if your mail is simply to offer advice I would be most grateful!

Many thanks!

Mark

It is not very easy these days to secure a job in Japan but there a number of chances. I think if you can try to contact some English schools here in Japan it will be of help. Also, you may find it easier hooking up somewhere when you are here.
Thanks.

Thanks Bod,

My wife is actually Japanese so sorting out a visa/accommodation shouldn't be a problem.

Not sure I really want to teach English in Japan but I appreciate that this is possibly my best chance of securing employment.

thanks again.

Mark

Can you speak Japanese?
If the answer is anything less than "Yes, fluently" then you have little chance of securing anything outside English Language Teaching.
I see you live in Kent. If you really want to get an idea of what is required to work for a Japanese company, go to the DISCO International Career Forum this weekend in Earls Court.

Since you said your Japanese is basic, your will most likely have to teach English. My advice to you is do that and really make an effort to learn Japanese. Then maybe in a two years or so you'll know enough to get a real job.
