Hey guys, I haven't posted in a long time. I was living in Japan for a while and then came back to America for family/homesick/friend reasons and now after going where I needed to go in America, I want to go back to Japan in April. I did have an offer in Tokyo and another place where it is very "city" but I love the countryside and the slow life. However, I don't see too many jobs in those areas. Does anyone know of a school that is hiring in the Tohoku countryside or some other opportunity? Peace...

Best Choice in countryside is DIY school.

Need cash. 1million to 1.5million to start up. Flyer printing is cheap. Stand outside the station and pass them out. You will have them lining up outside if you have the charisma and charm to do it right.

Hi khalilah,

Did you use the job search (http://www.gaijinpot.com/job_search.php?cat=&position_type=&full_part=&location=190&selang=all&keyword=keyword&jid=job+id&action=search) function on this site?
How about HelloWork's (https://www.hellowork.go.jp/kensaku/servlet/kensaku?pageid=001) job listing site? (not the most user friendly site)

Not quite sure what you are interested in doing. If you can read/write translate English/Japanese there could be work close to U.S. Military installations.

I have not had much luck up here in Aomori prefecture but I don't speak/read/write Japanese. I did get a temp job with a Japanese contract company a while back (snow removal, grunt job) and they were extremely interested in if I was able to speak/read/write Japanese.

Most of the work I have heard of Gaijin getting has all been manual labor positions. English schools are few and far between and are concentrated around the larger cities, Sendai, Aomori, Akita, Morioka, etc (at least they are larger cities to me :) ).

Goood Luck,

TomT
