Hi, I'm a newbie to the forum and so glad I came across it - info about monbusho scholarship is a huge relief!

Anyways, I have a BS in Business Administration (Marketing) from a college in the states and wondering if anyone who did a different major for their undergrad tried to get into Japanese linguistics or literature masters program (through monbusho)

I went through the application guideline and it seems that the applicant needs to have the bachelor's in what they intend to study as a postgrad, or something related (obviously, mine isn't related at all).

Plus, I didn't have to write a thesis to get my BS. Is this going to have a drastic impact on my candidacy? (I saw a section on explaining your undergrad thesis).

If you can share any tips about how to contact the professors to be your supervisor and share you stories on masters programs in japan, that would be great.

Lastly, how hard would it be to get into one of the best schools in japan? like todai, waseda, keio, kyodai, etc. Would you say it's easier to get the admission through the scholarship program or by applying directly??

I have a 3.4 (not a grade to boast about) and my japanese is near native when it comes to speaking and reading (according to what my japanese friends say) but not writing - (do have a JLPT 1, if that means much)

(Ill be probably coming up with more questions as I dig in deeper, I appreciate your help in advance).

Tokyo- and Osaka Gaidai have these programs.
You can also try Japan Air(open) University.
It's located in CHIBA.
But marketing man ,its better to have MBA from HITOTSUBASHI for high pay.
