Dogs

Has anyone had any experience keeping a dog in Japan? We are considering a move to Japan from Canada, and would want to take our dog with us. I have checked with Immigration, and it seems that it would only be a 14 quaranteen period. I also know that it will be somewhat difficult finding an agreeable landlord, and I know that a big city is not the place to take a dog (I have previously lived in Tokyo, so I am well aware of the space restrictions). However, perhaps someone has (or knows someone who has) experience with a dog in Japan and can offer some advice.

Hi Jack,

I have a friend who moved to Japan with two rotts. Giant dogs. She didn't have any real problems, but on the other hand her husband is a designer for Disney, and is working for Disney Tokyo. So all living arrangements where made by Disney. In other words, I think it boils down to cold hard cash.
