Hey all,

Question:

My son has dual citizenship, but just an american passport. we want to send him over to the grandparents for a longer than 3 months. What is the best way of doing this?

I'm assuming the surest way is getting him a japanese passport, but are their other ways of getting him over there for longer than 3 months possible? The last thing I want to do is for him to leave after a length of 3 months and him get in trouble due to my negligence....

Thanks for the Help?

Easiest to get J-passport for entry to and exit from Japan. Departure staff in the US may require a look at the J-passport to make sure that he will be admitted to Japan, and vice versa on return. This is only possible until he becomes 22, when he must choose a nationality.
