Does anyone have any advice on this? I've never been to uni and all the terminology just confuses me. I don't particularly want to have to do preliminary courses but if it's needed it's needed. Actually we are looking for two courses, for a married couple ultimately wanting to gain BA degrees. I have substantial savings but my husband does not.
Here are our stats just to help:
Me:
4 years spent living in Japan previously
Self taught Japanese, conversational level, reading ability quite high.
JLPT level 3 passed years and years ago, probably could pass level 2 now with some months study.
12 years high school education (will slap me in face I know) 8 GCSES A-C
No loans from bank needed, good amount of cash to cover course costs for a year.
Him:
Never lived in Japan, has 2 visits.
Self taught Japanese, hiragana+katakana reading ability, basic kanji
High school education+ community college degree.
Definitely needs a loan from bank to meet the lowest reqs, unless I pay for his course upfront. Do we need to prove a lot of money in the bank to get a student visa?
I just want to go back to Japan. But I also want to stay this time, so I want to get a degree. We also want to work but I'm confident I can run my business in Japan if we fail to get work. I know it's 28 hours max a week.
I would definitely prefer Tokyo if anyone knows of a good place there. I would very likely go back to my old town Ooi in Shinagawa-ku.
Please don't mock, I know I have no clue, I know I'm probably being naive and nobody will take me with my lack of education.
