Gaijin! Are you an Export? or an Import?
In Macro-Economic terms which would you be?
Do you create revenue from abroad? Or do you facilitate the spending of Japanese money abroad?
Consider and report all factors:
:) Work
:) Private - Do you send money home? or do you have money sent to you that you spend here in Japan?
NOTE:
:( You Physicaly are an import because your not Japanese made. Please do not factor this.
Based upon the general scheme of things is it beneficial for Japan to continue her current immigration policy? Specifically in concern to first world countries?
Are there any additional benefits to having Gaijin from other first world nations in Japan?

Gaijin! Are you an Export? or an Import?
I am both. And more.
1. I am here in Japan on a spousal visa paying income taxes for my regular "day" job to the Japanese Gov., as well as paying tarrifs on goods I import from India for my moonlighting business venture. I also report every year my earned income to the us..IRS which is the law.
2. Since I only make annually around $45,000 at my place of work and about $30,000 from my business venture, I fall under the minnimum $80,000. Section 911 of the Foreign earned income (FEI) Exclusion code provides excluding $80,000 from that on an individual tax payer.
3. My business: incorporated as a sole proprietorship E commerce business in california, I am to pay an annual business license fee of only $145 (Pay no sales tax because I am incorporated as a sole proprietorship which enables me to include this earned income on my regular earned income tax form), plus an annual california based web hosting fee of 249.98. (business write-off). But, I do have to pay a self employment tax (SE TAX) annually. On the SE TAX I multiply my my total earnings by 92.35%. The I am taxed 15.3% on my net earnings. Being self-employed one can not escape this tax.
4. In my case, the type of business I practice: an e commerce business with its being established in California, I am not subject to pay sales tax in Japan even though I sell to Japanese and, I myself, actuallly reside in Japan. I urge a small business owners who think they may want to do business like me (e-commerce) to Incorporate in their home country before coming to Japan. This is, of course, assuming you are comming from a country that falls under the FEI Exclusion act. (double taxation treaty).
5. The product which I sell in Japan, contributes greatly to the bettering of the environment. I sell a very eco-freindly product that is good for ones health, promotes a healthy lifestyle and without mentioning preciselly what it is that i sell, great for mankind.
6. As mentioned before, i import my product from India (third word country, though developing at a fast rate) into Japan, Pay annual fees to American companies (webhosting comp), Taxes to the IRS, and taxes to the Japanese governement, all the while suppling a eco-friendly product to the people of Japan and other gaijin who reside here.
I am an Export and an Import. And a daddy, family supporter, friend, human being, etc.....
