(Sorry to start 2 threads in such a short time span.)
I have about 30 cho of floors to finish, and, as far as I know, spar varnish is the best stuff.
The most important ingredient is tung oil, although it may make up only 30% of the varnish.
My problem: I can't find it. I can find tiny bottles of tung oil, but they're about 600 yen for 100 mm. The local DIY shop mostly sells urethane. I've looked on the web, but a few sites have told me that spar varnish can't be imported to Japan. Seems silly, it's very old stuff... and it's almost local...
I've started to look for boat supply shops... they might have it..
Any ideas?
