Hey everyone..

Im after one of these.. (Suica Commuter Card) But i have a few questions..

1) Firstly, i already have a suica card. Can i just use this card and change it into a Commuter Card?

2) As i understand it, the commuter card allows me to travel between 2 nominated stops, an unlimited amount of times, and also to get off at stops in between? Is this right?

3) If i live on the yamanote line, (uguisudani) and travel to shibuya a lot, can i buy a commuter card and use it, and technically be able to get off at any stop on the yamanote? As i also work at a tokyo station aswell, would the commuter card allow me to go from say, uguisudani, stop at shinjuku, go onto shibuya, then get back on later and go to tokyo and then back to uguisudani? (stopping and leaving the station at each station)

3) How much is it?

4) How do i get one?

Any help would be great =)

actually just to clarify.. As above, would the card allow me to stop at any stop on the yamanote, going basically in either direction and starting anywhere/stopping anywhere?

If you get a suica from Uguisudani to Shibuya via Ikebukuro and Shinjuku, you can get on/off at any station along that path. If you get a suica via Tokyo and Shinagawa, you can get on/off at any station along that path. So which half of the Yamanote line do you travel more often? I'm guessing Ikebukuro-Shinjuku, but I don't know if one path is faster than another.

Or, you can get a suica from Uguisudani to Ueno, then a commuter pass on the Ginza line to Shibuya.

A commuter pass suica isn't cheap- it's only worthwile if you use the line like, 10 times a week (for work). If you're a student, you get a discount (I think half price). Just go to any station and sign up for one.
