Uk Tax?

Righty, pop quiz UK hotshots!! I have been out of the UK since October(2003), Travelling and from March 2004 to March 2005 working in Japan and paying Japanese taxes as usual. I will return to the UK in april and work there for two months as a 'temp' before I go to Brazil in June indefinately. So, I have not worked in the UK for 17 months (and thus paid taxes there).

QUESTION: Will I get any nasty suprises when I get back to the UK and be asked to pay any kind of taxes on my income in Japan for the 17 month period? I have only been home 3 times in this period on 3 two week holidays.
