What television channels are available in Japan?

I was looking on line to figure out which channels are available in Osaka but to no avail. The ones I am most interested in are BBC, SciFi, NatGeo, and the like. Does anyone know if these are available?

If you get cable or satelite TV you can get Fox (like sky 1) BBC, NatGeo, Discovery and some others which are similar to the Sky services in the UK. J Sports is similar to Skysports 1-3 showing football etc

cable is alot cheaper and you get more channels for free on the basic package
plus you can get cable internet too
