check cyberjapan.tv or tokyo meltdown for starters
loop for sweaty crowded chicago house. http://www.club-loop.com/loop.html
probably the cheapest too. ain't nothing but a basement and a bar 4'x6'
womb/ageha is too crowded and impersonal. no room to cut loose and burn some calories
jzbrat is good for house sometimes, but not as many people show up as brokenbeat/stax groove nights - kind of boring
don't go to loop to meet the opposite sex though and fun should ensue
actually, that holds true for any club -- watch out for foreigner hunters
never been to yellow, haven't figured out exactly where it is yet/not interested enough to try http://www.club-yellow.com/
oh yeah, maw played @ velfarre in december and tim sweeney played the night before somewhere else, maybe womb
bump for more suggestions...
it seems impossible to find house and hip hop at the same place... people have mentioned that there maybe a few spots in shinjuku... wouldnt mind cutting it loose again soon...
vanilla was awful!
I dunno dude but don't worry, there are plenty of us here who love trance too.
A few of us forum members get together sometimes and go to trance events, so jump in next time mang.
Anyway there are too friggin many house clubs and events around Tokyo to even begin listing.
Right now electro (yay!) and pop-house (blech) seem really popular.
For mega-clubs, Womb, AgeHa, Camelot, and Asia all get big house events often.
Camelot is the most "accessible" of all of them because the entrance price is cheap and they play more mainstream stuff on the big dance floor, but the "white room" is usually for progressive house and other less commericial styles and has a more chillout/lounge feel.
The international acts tend to go for AgeHa and Womb more but domestic DJs play there as well.
Warehouse (in Azabu-juban) also gets some big house events.
For people who prefer their house music at a lounge setting (rather than at a club), try Mado Lounge or A.I Tokyo, both are in Roppongi.
There are also smaller clubs, especially around Aoyama and Daikanyama, that focus on house music in a less commericlized setting.
