    Re: money

Everything else means what? Rent, phone, utilities, transportation?

Figure on about 30,000 yen/month for groceries.
Beyond that, it all depends on your lifestyle and where you live (city or countryside).

      Re: money

      Shannan,

there are many sites on the Internet which list various daily items and their prices. One of these sites is:

      http://www.pricechecktokyo.com/

But if you type "cost of living in Japan" at Google, you will get a long list of comparable sites. You will also notice that a similar question as yours has also been asked at various other discussion forums and message boards. In most cases the reply was similar to that of Glenski: "it depends".

I think that if you visit one of those sites and then make up your lists of items that have to be covered by the 70 000 Yen that you mention, then you can quickly estimate whether is it sufficient or not.

      Good luck.
