  • Peanutbutter in Kansai area

I used to get my peanutbutter from Costco, which sold these HUGE jars 2000/3000 yen a piece. Now they're gone. They havent been selling them for a quite some time now. Anyone have an idea where I can get them?

My understanding is that Peanut-butter is not popular here.
Shame, as it's mother's milk as far as I'm concerned.
I find it in the local grocery in teeny little jars.
I too would also like to know the answer to this.

This is sometimes available in various random foreign food shops in Shinsaibashi. Often sold-out though. I get mine from a liquor store in the middle of nowhere near Tsuruhashi.

I went to a foreign foodstore called YAmaya in Ibaraki and they only had the expensive small jars. Havent checked out the foreign foodstores in Umeda nor Shinsaibashi yet, I know the ones in Umeda, but not any in Shinsaibashi. Whats it called?

            Amazon.jp:

Kind of expensive though for what it is.

Ever considered just buying some regular peanuts and chewing them yourself?

These shops most likely have it, but probably only the small jars:

Organic and not the cheap palm oil and sugar stuff but ...

Decent quality 'American Style', stocks variable ...

There is some really fabulous homegrown stuff, but it is very expensive. Strange as they product about 20% as many as they import.

Now if your willing to try Japanese Peanuts (aka The Mothra Fairies) ... try these.

Don't suppose you have a food processor....?

For me peanut butter in Japan = 'Crunchtime' By peanut butter and Co.
Anyone who doesn't like peanut butter is a cultural elitist and will be shot when the revolution comes.

Then I am a cultural elitist and I shall fear the revolution.
