    Glenski,

I'm sorry to bother you with a personal message, but you are more in the know regarding alien registration matters than I.

After I received my new 3 year visa this past September, I went to the ward office and applied for my new card. All the paperwork was filed sans a contract from my employer as proof of employment.

Due to a significant lapse in judgment on my part, I forgot to pick up my new card from the ward office. The stamp they placed on my card which stated an expiration date stated my old card expired about 2 months ago (presumably when my new card was supposed to be ready).

I will be going to the ward office tomorrow to try and straighten out this mess, but I'd like to know what to expect in terms of penalties. I'm not worried about monetary fines, but rather the impact on my current visa. Does not updating the card negate the validity of my new visa?

    Thank you for your time.

    Best,

    Dan
