Wink Is Huis Ten Bosch worth the visit?

For me it will be the most boring thing ever. But I think my gf will like it. Anyone been there? Seen the photos and some vids, pretty boring and overpriced. Anyone can convince me going there? How is it?

You just summed up Huis Ten Bosch. Their flower exhibits are beautiful, but that's pretty much the only cool thing about the place, and I don't even give a crap about flowers.

Yeah, thats what I did, I just took it off the list, not worth the time and money, its gonna be crowded, nothing to see exept stupid houses and I have to pay entrance fees within the park WTF, waste of time. Better sail around kujuku shima next door under the sunset for 2000 Yen

Hah, I have a lot of free tickets to sail around kujukushima, me and my family do it often. We can also go to HTB free but I always say no. It's more for girls or something, boring.

Where you get those tickets from?

hehe, HTB has reopened in April 2010 I think, its running pretty good, I asked around and read some articles, its pretty overpriced though with 5800 Yen and then entrance fees within as well. so it will end up approx 10,000 pp for a day.

Still thinking its rrally not worth it.

USJ in Osaka is 5000 yen, Disneyland is about 5-6,000 yen for a basic day pass. Everything is expensive here, and even at those prices it still was not able to make money. Imagine if they lowered the gate fees, would people still come?

They built so many of these theme parks, I heard there is a German town, Spain town and American town theme park, like HTB! People rather go there instead of making a real trip - I think its a very good alternative money and time wise.

Maybe the kids think thats really a different country when they go there. Its so clean and people are so nice and then when they go to Amsterdam BOOM! Prostitues, cookie shops, crime, dirt hahahh and no windmills

I've been. I stayed there overnight and I thought it was nice but it was expensive. I'm not from Holland though so it was 'new' to me too, and I liked looking at the buildings. The weather was good when I stayed there though and that made all the difference, walking around, going on little boat trips, that's what I preferred to the 'attractions'. A lot of those (such as a teddy bear museum) are very twee and didn't really appeal to me. It was quite crowded too.

How much do you think you'll be spending on getting there, though?
Thanks so much for your input. I will be doing a road trip by car and will pass by Nagasaki and was thinking if its worth the time and money to pass by Nagasaki.

So far I am not really impressed, Id rather go to the Saikai Pearl Resort and make a boat trip within Kujuku Islands and after to the Sasebo Zoo. I think its more fun than pretending to be in Holland. I lived in Germany for some time and its like that.

Mid August is O-Bon season. PEAK holiday season in Japan. Every man and his dog will be hitting the tourist spots at that time and hotel and air ticket prices double. Avoid the period between about August 11-12 to about August 18th.

Yeah have been hearing that a lot, but thats the only time my gf has holiday. Thats why I am trying to avoid typical tourist or hot spot places.
