Exclamation Soft Bank Global Rental - the BIG SCAM

    Hello everyone,

I am writing today to notify you of the dishonest practices of Soft Bank Global Rental whih is NOT at all a gaijin friendly company.
My bill for 3 ½ months of use (local calls, one hour on internet, and some calls using a prepaid card) costed 1600 euros.

    So watch out!

In think that only a general boycott that could make Soft Bank lower these prices.

~100 days rental, about 100 euro. Assume 3 minutes of calls a day, 300 euro, that's 1200 euro to account for in data.

Their data rates are pretty easy to find, one click away from their top page. 0.32yen/128-bytes = 0.25yen/k = 250yen/mb.
1200 euro would be only ~500mb of data, not particularly hard to rack up, particularly if you're tethering.

(note that these rates are only half of what softbank mobile charges for data outside of japan)

Yeah, it's expensive but it has nothing to do with scam. It's more you not being able to read the rates...

Exclamation I agree it's scam, me too, problems with soft bank

This is an old message but I only now read it and I find it's true : I have the same experience ! (75 600 yens for one week use and something like 12 minutes phone calls, and no data used !)
    My boss payed, fortunately !

But there must be something wrong, don't you think ?

Anyway, as for my company, several persons go to Japan frequently and the boss told us not to take Soft Bank anymore.
We will not be able to verify one more time if it's scam or not :-)

I would like to wager 50,000 yen that the first poster and the one above me are the same person.
Same English style, same heading style and agreeing with himself..

The internet is a weird place..

It's not a "scam" because it is perfectly legal. That being said, it is a rip off. There are other options.

Why did you not do your homework?
