    Default The Chinese Century.

    It really will be...
I went to The Tokyo art fair today and that was pretty much the final confirmation for me...
Not only are they doing pretty well in a ton of other areas but the Chinese modern art was just awesome.

I'm pretty happy about it really. I've always had a soft spot for the Chinese. They are interesting and pragmatic people with really nice food and hot chicks.

I don't think they'll get a whole century this time around. The world moves too fast.

But they're so big...I think they need a whole century.... And I can't see any contenders... You are right though...20 years ago no-one even imagined the Chinese would be in the position they are now.

I know the country has a LOT of problems but I think they will overcome them. I think their government is doing a pretty good job steering a very large and somewhat unwieldy ship.

Just be glad a Communist oligarchy is not running your country. You would have no personal freedom whatsoever. They also execute more people each year than all other countries combined.

Seems that Chinese has become the new International language beside English, according to the UN. Schools have been ordered to start teaching it in something like 2015 and it will be mandatory all over the word. They are also ordering that English be like the Thomas Hardy novels type. Ie. "I be, she be. He be"

Everywhere in China smells like a medicine shop.
Other than this and chicken feet, no problemo with our new Chinese overlords.

They have plenty of personal freedom, though it is true that they can't just go wherever, whenever. For example, their microblogging is a very powerful weapon. One thing I respect about modern-day young(er) Chinese is that, unlike here, they have the balls to effect change. How much freedom do we really have here? Individuals who go out of their way to rock the boat in Japan do get silenced.

Personally, I am in favour of swift execution. Yes, yes, I know there is a distinct lack of justice.......But the idea that you will be dealt with extremely severely is for the most part a powerful deterrent.

It would seem that China has a very unpredictable social future coming. I wouldn't be so bold as to imagine even 5 or 6 years from now.
    I really hate the NTA.

That was a pretty venomous (and patently untrue) thing to say.
I'm sure you don't mean that.
