I am permanently leaving Japan next week. My two year contract with SoftBank ends on May 1.

To avoid the 10,000 cancelation fee, the service rep told me I could cancel from overseas on May 1 by calling them and faxing them.

Does anyone have experience with this? How much of a hassle was it?
