I preferred Jenny over the new girl too.

Sad to see Jenny go. Eric is playing in What the Dickens sometime soon I think.

Have to agree, Eric does look weird but my nephew still demands TV take over when this show and inai inai ippa or whatever it's called is on.

Smile The Golden Years of NHK

Jenny was fun. My daughter did an Eigo-de Asobo show with her a few years ago and she was very down to earth and personable. However, over the years there have been some strange characters on that show. Do you remember JB, the large sloth-like creature with a gold JB hip-hop chain? Did you know that Erik was "Pepper" (the large Pink tiger) over a decade ago. Can any of you remember Hotch Patch Station with the guy who could sing like Prince? What's his name? Sometimes I still see him on TV doing covers of artists like MJ and Queen. He was talented.

I say, as soon as Eigo-de Asobo lost Chris, Dario, and others circa 1999, it has been down hill (now that really dates me). Chris since went on to great success as the JR train announcer in English and Japanese. Did you notice that there are more and more "real characters" being replaced with animations these days? Maybe it is cheaper and easier that working with talerento or "actors".

Nice post, Ume.... very natsukashii for us aging parents

I like the chain reaction thing they have going on with Pythagoras Switch. On that note, I recently saw a new show (American) - Unchained Reaction - where they build full-sized chain reactions. It's pretty cool!

Those guys REALLY love ramen! Haha

That was pretty cool. I particularly liked that it was Yokohama themed.

The girl with the 'big nose' has a name too, you sour plum. It's Kiko Wilson and she's got an ethereal voice, moves like Jagger and has great fashion sense. I use her spats to teach my boy about colors. I won't have her spoken ill of on this forum.

Kiko, if you're reading this, I'd love to do you in a tree.

Rockin' good news! Pls put an actual date to 'sometime soon' if you can. My boy is a fan and would probably have the time of his sweet short life. Of course as a responsible parent, I'll cover his ears when Eric does the raunchy adult version of 'Head, shoulders, knees & toes...'
