seems like many people prefer to get their supps from this web
I`m wondering about the risk in using this way to get my protein powder
Anyone?

Not sure what risks you're referring to, not like they sell anything illegal. I order from them all the time.
Shipping isn't cheap, but even after that you're getting a higher quality product for less price than even the cheapest brands in Japan.
I order proteins, BCAAs, various vitamins, protein bars etc. from them once every few months and I've never had any problems. Takes like a week to arrive.

planning to order from here too. Very cheap. Was stuck with the protein 1.2 kg bags from costco which cost about 4000 yen a bag. ugh.
Its completely safe, my friend uses the site too to order.
I get protien etc from allstarhealth.com. Usually save $30+ compared to bodybuilding.com, plus located in orange county it literally arrives the next day. Add in saving from a strong yen and itll prolly pay for shipping and still save money over bb.com. Just lettin yas know![]()
Come as you are.
Well, first, starting a workout regimine and getting into some sort of physical shape maximizes the effectiveness of suppliments imo. So id suggest starting to workout, stretch (after getting warmed up always, and after workouts), and eat healthy. All of the suppliments you buy you can get the same thing from food to some extent. Im pretty new to all of this and am picking things up as i go, so really the guys from the bodybuilding thread should chime in here, itd really be informative to get their opinions. But ya, start lifting light and regularly and build up muscle and endurance. Jogging, swimming, and bicycling are great cardio for non-lift days also, and jogging is a great quick warmup also.
Heres a protien intake calculator for when you are seriously training: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/caltp.htm
I got Optimum Gold standard 100% whey (mixed with milk an extra 11g of protien), modern bcaa for intra-workout, jack3d pre-workout, and orange triad as a multivitamin. I like the optimum whey and am gonna get 100% casien also for nighttime supplimentation (cottage cheese also good for night). Also musclepharm creatine for 5g a day dosing (derived from red meats also).
I use bodybuilding to check ratings and read reviews for products, also read the forums for reviews etc, but order from allstarhealth. Also make sure they can ship to japan, ive not needed to check yet.
But ya, a creatine mono-hydrate, a bcaa intra-workout, beta-alanine, whey, casien, multivitamin, and for sore joints from lifting fish oil. Thats kinda what im looking at right now. Jack3d is heavy on stimulants and kinda not my bag, so im looking for something else. Soon as i get my shopping list done ill post up, prolly tomorrow, and hopefully some of the more expierenced guys can give their opinions also.
But first things first, whats your current fitness level?

yah people forget that they should be at least working out for 3 to 6 months before starting to take supplements.
Hamburgler you use quite a lot, just protein not enough? sjeesh :P
About 6 months ago I decided to quit taking whey protein and just increase real protein. Can't say I've noticed much change, other than in my wallet. I buy tins of salmon at 98 yen a pop from my local supermarket.
I've also stopped reading the bodybuilding.com forum and the like (unless I'm looking for something really specific) and started listening to my body more. There was just too much conflicting advice suffice so say there is more that one way to achieve your goals and not everything works for everyone.
On the other hand maybe I'm just jaded and I'll always have love handles.
Lol, its like a christmas list, always gets dramatically shorter when it comes to spending money. Whey and casien are gonna be bought though. Creatine is nice, but having to drink so much water is kind of a pain, and doesnt work well when water isnt copiously available. Good for lifting though. Wanted to try beta alanine from what ive read. Fish oil works and can be obtained from, shocker, fish. If da joints hurt give it a try. Multivitamins nice, but if you have a nice well rounded diet shouldnt be necessary.
Anyways, just listen to your body and do what works for you.![]()
You might try Gaspari Myofusion Chocolate which is pretty good, including taste. That or ON gold standard 100% seem to be pretty popular.
If you go by their recommendations which is for serious body building it will last probably a month depending on your off days.
I take variable amounts to complement my food protein for swimming and running. It lasts at least three months that way.
Wow, it's quite a science, isn't it?
I'm busy at work (though not excessive overtime - office work though), at home with family, and I'm studying, too. So I do have limited time for fitness/exercising and stuff.
So, my current fitness level is...well I always use the stairs when I commute to work...and I don't lose breath at all... and I do 200 press ups (over the course of one day) every 2nd day ...and I'm 40 years old..
... maybe I should just each a few extra sticks of Yakitori??
Come as you are.
It'd be cheaper and have essentially the same effect. When you get into shape and increase your workout load/time, then suppliments could be considered. Otherwise, it's kinda a waste of money
Heres a challenging bodyweight workout including running and swimmimg. Definately will get you in shape. Start at or work your way up to PT schedule 1 week 1 and go from therehttp://www.navysealteams.com/warning.htm
Essentially, like Hamburglar said, you get everything you need from normal food. Though stuff like BCAA sounds exotic and cool, it's just a supplement. As a rule of a thumb, if after a workout you are sore and/or out of energy for days, you might consider eating more, or going for supplements.
Furthermore, a 70kg guy will need considerably less food than a 100kg guy. Experts recommend 2g of protein per bodyweight in kg a day, which, if you do the math, comes out as quite a bit of protein to consume from normal food for bigger guys. Supplements help out a lot on this, and might even be a cheaper solution especially for bigger guys to close down the deficit for each day without empty calories.
edit: Just as a reference, I take 40g of whey a day and fish oil. I used to take BCAA before and after workout as well, but I didn't really notice any difference after stopping that, so I dropped that from the shopping bag.

Thanks for all the info. everyone.
I forgot to mention that I was doing a bit of Judo a few years back, but that's probably another topic, as my fitness level probably isn't what it was like back then.
So I'm 83 kg now, does that mean I need to consume 166 grams of protein per day? Seems a lot.
Come as you are.
Hmm odd, actually you need to take at least 275 according to the calculator on bb.com. 3.3 gr/1 kg
Here are some other calculators though:
http://www.healthcalculators.org/cal...rs/protein.asp
http://www.global-fitness.com/proteincalc.php
http://www.meals.com/Meals-Tools/Pro...alculator.aspx
but id go with what the bb.com calculator says.
There are some differing opinions with the protein intake. The lowest I've seen is 1.5g/1kg of fat free body mass, and highest around 5g/1kg. I take middle road and just ease up on 2g/1kg of total body mass.
What you could consider is your personal current objective. For example, if you have already considerable amount of muscle, but want to lose fat, it might be better to get more calories out of protein than fat when consuming less calories than you burn to ensure that the muscles won't disappear.
Another thing is, and this happens only if you go super crazy on the protein intake, that too much protein might cause your body to go acidic, which would not be good for overall health. But, with the amount discussed here, there is absolutely no risk what so ever.
Not to say that the bb.com calculator is wrong, but they ARE selling bodybuilding supplements, so....
Here's another nice routine with running, swimming, good bodyweight circut, and even hiking with weight (rucking). I rucking rove ruckinghttp://www.leatherneck.com/forums/sh...MARSOC-Workout
Personally I'm just taking ON 100% whey right now, but once workouts progress in duration and intensity thinking about giving these a try:
Optimum 100% Casien 2lb (try it out at night, see what effects are, also compared to cottage cheese at night, and zero)
100% Gold Standard Whey 10lb at that price it breaks down to almost the same if not a penny cheaper than the bodystrong you mentioned, though shipping 10lb to japan would cost more prolly
Bodystrong Beta-alanine (4-6g per day total from all sups combined)
Bodystrong Creatine (5g per day total from all sups combined)
Controlled Labs Purple Wraath intra-workout EAA/BCAA (has prolly 1-1.5g Beta-Alanine, so figure it in above)
CL White Flood Pre-Workout (850mg Beta-Alanine) wanna try this out
Still have the supps listed above, prolly try switching out jack3d and white flood to see the difference, as well as try bodystrong body surge since it seems esentially the same as jack3d but cheaper. Time will tell what works and what doesn't and what simple isn't necessary, but it's nice to be in the US where $5.95 flat rate shipping and cheap prices make trying things out that much easier.![]()
Just some thoughts--
I can never workout why everyone takes ON. It's run of the mill stuff. Nothing special. I personally use Muscle FX HydroBolic, a way better profile in my opinion. There are also lots more out there that I could name that have better profiles. Also, if it is not ulta-filtered or hydrolyzed the body has a hard job absorbing the stuff.
I would say that the for the average person who works out pretty seriously, 0.8g of body weight in pounds is a good amount to take in each day. So if you weighed 83kg, then aim to take in 140-150g of protein a day. If you are competing and on a low calorie diet, 1-1.5g of body weight would be a good amount to take in. So if you were 83kg you would take in anywhere from 180g to 270g a day.
But as someone mentioned, if you are not consistent at the gym and don't have a good diet in place, then the supps are a waste of money.
I have ordered from BB.Com for years, but I will not order from them again. The deliveries are taking about 2 weeks to arrive and I am getting charged by DHL about 1600yen for local delivery when it arrives. In the past, BB.Com used UPS who were very efficient. I will go back to ordering from http://www.1protein.com, which doesnt have the same selection, but prices are cheaper and delivery is super fast.
