    Default powdered fetus pills anyone?

This sounded way too disgusting to be true, but turns out it's real. Pills that contain ground up dried fetus and babies were seized on their way from China to Korea.

Hey, with their one-child policy, they end up with a lot of fetuses they need to dispose of in one way or another.

Taking in to account what we know from stem cell research, as an idea it's not even that far fetched. Smashing dried up fetuses to pulver with a baton might not be the way to go, but, you know, semantics and ____.

From what we know about the effects of grinding up dead cows and feeding them to other cows, probably not a very smart idea. The idea of contracting something like kuru disease don't sound all that appealing.

Kuru is an incurable degenerative neurological disorder that is a type of transmissible spongiform encephalopathy, caused by a prion found in humans.[1] The term "kuru" derives from the Fore word "kuria/guria" ("to shake"), a reference to the body tremors that are a classic symptom of the disease; it is also known among the Fore as the laughing sickness due to the pathologic bursts of laughter people would display when afflicted with the disease. It is now widely accepted that Kuru was transmitted among members of the Fore tribe of Papua New Guinea via cannibalism.

That ain't to knock stem cell research which offers a lot of promise. However, combing pill popping and cannibalism seems rather far removed from that kind of research, and more than just a little dangerous considering the possible deadly side effects. But then again some people seem to believe that eating ground up rhino horn will improve their sexual performance...

But aren’t babies presumed to be pure when born? And certainly a fetus must be pure when aborted – no?

I did find that the authors don’t seem to be able to consistently distinguish between a baby and a fetus, but this is rather common these days.

As for the consumers of this supplement – as doing so sort of confirms their stupidity, I wouldn’t feel too much sympathy for them catching whatever it brings on. Same for the consumers of drugs and alternate but legal recreational drugs.

Only if the mothers were and still are virgins.

They should certainly be considered as candidates for a Darwin Award. And unlike BSE, it would be unlikely to affect too many others...

It's a hereditary disease, so no.

And when I said "not that far fetched", I meant that on an idea level it's not in the same ballpark as shooting pulverized rhino horn to get a better hard on.

Is that what they do with that rhino horn? I thought that they just placed it on their own ... er, horn.

Original sin? Yes, some would call it a disease. Others prefer a more technical term: nonsense.

It is, however, akin to cannibalism and the associated risks of kuru disease. Generally not a good idea.
