Hi guys


I am moving to Japan for work next month. I have a maximum of Y350,000/month for rent to spend. I will be working either at Kasumigaseki or Otemachi. The lease will be in the name of my employer but I am in charge of finding the apartment.

I would really appreciate if you could help me by answering my questions below:

- I have started looking at the Ken Corporation website. Are there any other agents you would recommend?

- it seems that for apartments within my price range, there is no key money to be paid - is that right? I've heard that there is oversupply of accomodation for foreigners in Tokyo, does that mean that rent is negotiable?

- is there anything I should watch out for when I am looking at the conditions of lease?

- I am looking for a modern one bedroom apartment in a lively area with bars, restaurants etc. such as Roppongi. Which other areas would you guys recommend (keeping in mind where I'll be working).
