Thread: r What Happened to Mino Monta?

Default r What Happened to Mino Monta?

He has been abscent for several weeks from the TBS Asazuma program. They still have his cutout in prominent display and are recycling old footage of him doing things, but have said nothing about him.

I can only find rumors that his health is bad or he is being punished for saying bad things about Ozawa. Did he suddenly resign?

    Anybody know anything?

Maybe they figured out he is an idiot and nobody likes him.

Maybe, but I always got a chuckle at the start of my day with his incessant infatuation with the weather girl who did her report from remote locations around Tokyo.

And the look of exasperation on her face when he would make such a arse of himself over her.

Then one day he just suddenly started to leave her alone. Nowadays he just picks on the female announcers. Wouldn't be surprised if he's a pincher off camera.

    Google is your friend.

As to what's happened to the old goat, he's apparently enjoying himself on a well deserved two week summer break. Otsukaresama !

    先週から今週いっぱいまでお休みだそうです。
    でも、彼がいなくても番組が進行していますね!(笑)
And yeah, apparently he likes to feel up the odd female annoucer or ten .

    2/2 TBS「みのもんたの朝ズバッ!」B みのもんたさんの「セクハラ・パハワラ発言」 8:18 みのもんたさんは、一人の女子アナウンサーに対して【セクハラ・パワハラ】発言をされました。

Gotta say I agree the last part of the first quote above. The program definitely runs much better without Mino.

I always chuckle when you can hear him harrumphing and clearing his throat off camera while they're doing some sort of news bit.

Those cutout things of him are ridiculous.

Anyone know why all the news shows here use those big boards with parts covered up to be peeled off? Would it put a bunch of backstage staff out of jobs if they went to computer graphics and there was no longer anything to print, cut, and glue?

He is a heavy smoker and probably can't get through his couple hours of showtime without a few smokes.

I noticed they tried an ipad mock up for some items like sports and it didn't go over that well. Mino seems to prefer working with the paper cut outs and his audience is obviously the older (and getting older) types who probably feel more comfortable with the grade school cut outs.

I remember vividly one morning the camera came on to him after a segment. and he was sitting on the desk where the paid guests sit and when he realized he was on the air, he jumped off like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar. I still can't figure what those women sitting behind the paid guest desk are doing except to maybe give him a rub job.

What a joke that show is.

Mino Monta's wife just died the night before last. For all the rumors people brought up here, the likely reason for his absence was something completely different.
