A friend sent me two packages. The post office in America is...dumb. The sequence of events goes something like this:
package arrived and delivery attempted. No one was home. Left notice to pick up.
According to tracking, instead of delivery attempted, package is reported as unclaimed (though the claim notice states it would be at the post office for seven days).
Day 3 of package in US: package not available and unstoppable apparently because it's en route to Los Angeles, where for some reason they also can't stop it there because it just has to go allll the way back to japan.
anyways, the american post office says they can't do anything... and that I have to start an investigation. the Japanese post office numbers say within Japan only, so hopefully, someone can call? >.<;;
Any news on the package or whether they'll forward it back to me/original recipient or to the forwarding address would be great. If you could, ask them to continue contact through email (zaou.zt(at)gmail.com); if not, if someone wouldn't mind continuing to be my contact to the Japanese post office, that would help alot.
Package #: CD082021557JP
(oh yeah, package #2 of 2 arrived, also got a claim notice, but did not get reported accidentally somehow as unclaimed. argh.)
