Thread: Another one of those threads :)

Default Another one of those threads :)

It's another one of those thread where I ask people about Japan and whether I'll be able to make it in Japan or not. I'm still a highschool student, I've been working hard getting above-average marks in school.

I've been trying to see my oppurtunities in Japan. A heap of people telling me that the Japanese are racist and that Japan is not a good country to go to. As foreigners who live in Japan, what is your opinion regarding this?

Also what Job oppurtunities does Japan have?

Browsing around this forum I saw that many people complained that without a degree, there is no hope. Luckily being a student, I still have the oppurtunity to grab hold of a degree. Infact, I'm already looking for scholarships to study in Japan, but I'm struggling to learn the language. Can you give me any advise regarding learning Japanese. I bought Rosseta Stone which , in my opinion miserably fails at teaching Japanese.

The kind of people who say that do not understand Japan, and/or perhaps have never been here.

When I lived in New Zealand, I used to know a few Koreans and Chinese that hated Japan. There is still a lot of hatred among the non-Japanese Asian community overseas toward the Japanese. They are the racists - hating Japanese people because of what some of their grandparents/great grandparents did during the war.

In Japan you will, on occasions, be treated differently and discriminated against - but that won't be because they hate you, it is because they are being overly cautious of you.
    Come as you are.

Wow, it seems like I'm going to have a hard time "fitting in". I already suck at socialising with people. I prefer to keep quite in groups because people think I'm boring whenever I open my mouth. Seems like I'll forever keep on living my introverted boring life... *sigh*.

Why do you think that I'm trolling? What, do I have to some kind of a super cool b!tch to visit Japan? This is perhaps the first forum ever in which when you try to be nice to people, they come and start telling you sh!t.
