Default How about this: too much experience and forget it!!!

Was looking at job ads here in Australia and found one for TESOL teachers. However, there is one requirement that may surprise you:

"Please note: applicants with in- excess of 8 years’ experience post-TESOL are ineligible to apply."

    Wonder why?

Well here downunder the wage scales are based on number of years of experience. Once you hit a certain number/and or education qualifications you top out the scales.

So I am guessing that this is similar to the situation in Japan at many universities based on your age: too old and it costs the university too much money.

I've found that here in the Tokyo area it usually means that, "We are pretty sure that you know that we are going to screw you over so we would rather not have you here. There is a chance that you will tell these things to the newbies that we are currently taking advantage of".
