    Default Rants thread!!!

As has been suggested trolls can post here instead of killing threads!

  2. #2

Default rant, rant,....what does a rant look like? maybe something like -

    Fed up!!
Anyone just sick of listening to crappy English Day in day out despite
Giving all the tools to enable students to utter more than just one word.

Tired of asking inane, profound questions just to keep the lesson going? Tired of blank stares when you as the student to ask someone a question or create a topic.

Tired of asking hi, how are you? and get no response or fine thank you and you!
Add to it so I can feel better about the job.

I don't need money here, my wife a kids do so that's where it all goes.

Did I mention the freedom to take up and peruse any interest that I like and nit worry about the money.
Read the other posts that you selectively coose nit to include.

I forgot to mention the Australian super fund that has been growing nicely for the past 20 years which I still continue to build using some of that money from teaching here. I just made one for my wife because super here is a joke.
So another 25 years and those will be had when I'm 67.
Kids will go to international school here or we will move back to OZ when that comes around.
Are you tired of you hand to mouth existence?

So if you dig deeper you will actually know that that is now a reality and not just mobile for kindy kids but virtua, turned out quite successful in the end. It's not a dream it's a way of getting an income. And the feedback some posters gave me was a great help.
I never used the word dream! You did!
Think what you will, I'm busy planning my next project, a nice Aussie style veranda that my family and I can have BBQs and take in the views of the rice fields and peach orchards.
That reminds me got to get some eye filet from The Meat Guy in Nagoya.
    You ever tried it

Funny that because just a year ago you posted:-
    http://forum.gaijinpot.com/showthrea...t-unemployment

I want to get fired but in my contract it says if I do any freelance work this is grounds for termination.
If I blatantly do freelance work, (hard to prove) does this risk me losing eligibility for unemployment.

Any ideas on how to get fired with the boss fronting up with the 30 days in leu of notice,
I need the time and money.

    Plus he is an _______.

Default What a difference a bit of time makes

Yes the personality of some of my students gets on my nerves and fed up was a way to explain how I felt.
Crappy job? Sometimes yes other times it's ok. I wouldn't say I am overjoyed sitting face to face with a non communicative Engineer but it allows my family to enjoy life here.

State of mind? Well we can all over analyze situations from tim to time and living in the countryside is quite different to living in the city. Just takes time to adjust that's all.

You inflame past posts to suit your agenda, whatever that is.

so your life isnt Fine then and you do need the money and the job is crap so you basically agree with me

ok glad we cleared that up - i can stop pointing out your hypocrisy now and leave you alone

FWIW (and disclosing my interest in the original thread) I run a large engineering dept in a large Japananese firm. I employed 2 language schools to teach my staff english. We used to do it 'their way' but had exactly your experience- waste of time. I got rid of one school and sat down with the others and we structured a unique way of doing it that has worked very very well for my tech staff. I got them to cut out all the crap and just focus on inaccurate sloppy poor quality technical communications only - to get the engineers started and get them talking albeit poorly. I made it a requirement that they have to give some of their work presentations in english. We used the lessons for them to write out and practice their own presentations with the teachers help. Confidence 1st, accuracy grammer etc comes later.
This method gets them very motivated and very engaged - which is why we have seen a huge improvement in a very short time.

there are two kinds of people who have time to post

    1) those with a crap job with nothing to do
    2) those who have people who work for them and who only have to work a few hrs in a working day to add a lot of value

i would fall into the latter, you the former

    but thanks for playing

Thank you for remembering me.....I would fall into the #1 category and if you would like to have me work for you,I'm good with that. But would you take away my daytime computer privileges? There are a lot of people here that would feel sad to not see my posts perhaps?

    Default It doesn't exist!

I think if thefg gave you a job, you would me in a much worse situation than you are now.
Would have expected the maturity level of someone supposedly running an engineering section of a large Japanese company to be higher and more stable, even when replying to posts on a forum that isnt even related to his occupation.
thefg thinks in his dream world that he is super gaijin but you can see that from his posts he lacks knowledge or imagination to give advice that isn't just plain obvious and even a person who has no experience as a teacher could give.

It's sad but funny the people living in their imaginary world through Gaijinpot.
