Exclamation Sky Tree Gets More Visitors in a Month Than Some Countries

Who hasn't been up to the Sky Tree yet? 5.8 Million visitors in the first month - insane!

Also, apparently you have to book in advance - they won't sell you a day ticket on the day you get there.

I had to laugh at the statistics - totally insane. What I want to know is what actually happens if the 8.0 hits Tokyo when you are up there? Do they have fire escape stairs ?

Of course they do. What, you think they didn't THINK about that?!? Watch the news. Strong winds whip it around as much as an earthquake would.. the elevators stop automatically and people file out in an orderly, if somewhat disappointed) manner.

I hope the mods ban the OP for constantly promoting his own YT vids.
I think it's true and that's good enough for me.

Oh man.. I hadn't clicked on the link until you wrote that..
THAT'S tokyo joe? JEEZZUS!!!!!!!! They'll surely ban him from youtube for the most utterly stupidly boring uploads in history.
Like, even if he didn't put 2 minutes of crushingly dull observations into a 15 minute video it would still be the worst.
    Like, just stupid, unoriginal crap.

If you MUST put your stuff on Youtube at least TRY HARDER.

speak more quickly and about something interesting.
Here, watch Jello for some tips.

No I can't take the credit for it - I get an email bulletin from TJ when his releases the podcast on TTF. I thought it was a good and funny video but I don't get all the references (perhaps a New Zealander can tell us what TJ means). I get a feeling that he could do better with his microphone though. He's a funny old _______ - and helped me when I first came here get my first gig.

I do know what you mean though - It's obvious that about 50% of the active posters here on this forum are one or two people - the site owners - and their employees/agents. It's sooooo obviious Hijinx you have to try a bit harder.

Back on topic, I think it's funny that more people would visit a 350 meter observation deck in Tokyo than live in Scotland or New Zealand. As the video discusses, it's even more people than the number of people who have left New Zealand which apparently is a lot of people - what's the story with that? Are you in the know about this?

What's obvious is that you are trying to redirect web traffic here to your lame podcast videos.

Japanese just like to try out the new stuff. From chou cream, to Krispy Creme, to Kyari Pamyu Pamyu to the latest gadgetry, new is fun.
Besides, there is not tons and tons to see in Tokyo, imo.

The podcasts are lame. If that is actually his real voice, I feel sad for him.
    I really hate the NTA.

I think the 5.8 million is the amount that has been to the 'sky tree precinct' since it was finished.
I don't know how much it cost to build but they must be making money hand over fist from visitors all the associated crap they are selling.
Like...sky tree sodas... sky tree earrings, sky tree mousepads... I saw a guy wearing pointy sky tree shaped shoes the other day....

I and Mrs Super Grover are 10 min. away on foot from the Sky Tree. While the weekend traffic has exploded, no way have 5.8 million gone up. Many go to Asakusa and area. I also bought one of the Sky Tree sodas -- what a rip off. But now we have some cute kitsch. Enjoy the fugu in the area, too.

I get these bulletins and take the time to search out the best videos about Japan - see my other thread where I talk about 5 or 6 of the most famous vloggers and if I see one that I like - then yes I will post it here just like I did. I realize that at least half the active posters here -probably including you - are probably the same one or two people and that there is a lot of sock puppetry going on - it's so obvious from the writing style, but do not assume the world is like that. I have known Joe for almost 2 years now, and he's an interesting old _______ who has helped me a lot. You should come to the next Whiskey Live and meet both of us because I went to the one last year.

What I don't get is why people would go to the sky tree in summer because it's hard to see anything. You aren't going to be able to see Mt Fuji or Kamakura in the Summer - so why bother.

Is it really worth the time and parking money to visit that communication tower? I have seen it from the Shuto-ko (highway) several times before.
don't like my opinions? just chill and look at the pix on the left.
