Default Ok I screwed it again... I got into a fight and now the police asked my fingerprints

Hello I got into a fight With some guys. then the police came and
did an investigation asking me many questions. I was sure to ask if I was arrested. I was not. They made me put my name on some documents which I did. Now they ask for all my fingerprints and to take pictures of me. They say that I am in my right to refuse.

what should I do? what are this fingerprints and pictures going to be used from?
    ....

Say no and let us know how it goes.
The only thing in Japan that is harder than being a foreigner in Japan, is being Japanese in Japan.

Ok after checking with a lawyer I refused to let them take my fingerprints and pictures.
In my case as both parts were wrong they are not going to arrest me but if things were different. Like me being the only aggressor. then they would have had arrested me for refusing.
I still have to wait if the prosecutor is going to make a case against me.

    regards

hire an english interpreter next time so we can understand what the hell you're saying

i can't really figure out your story because your english is so rough

i understand it may not be your first language but it sounds like you have important information that others could use, it would really help if you make your info clearer for others to read

    Here's the rule:

don't hit any Jpn police unless you speak Japanese better than they do, or they hit you first without announcing they are police.

hi. just to let you guys know the end of the story.

the police investigated a lot. they filled like 500 pages containing details if the case. I had to go to "talk" with them and explain what happened times.

then the file was sent to the prosecutor who is the person who decides if my case goes to trial, if I have to pay money or if the case was trown away.

the prosecutor called me and I went to meet him. The first thing he asked me was why I haven't apologize to the other party.

I told him that I though that if I give an apology then it would mean I was the wrong part and they will declare me culprit.

he laughted and told me that in this kind of cases he first thing to do is apologize for the incident. I told him then that I wanted to apologize and pay any money for the damages.

he undertood and told me to wait for the other part to contact me.

then he other part was really angry because I didnt apologize and he would not meet me.

but it did not matter because he prosecutor only wanted to know if I was sorry and if I wanted to make ammends.

The case was finally trown away and I did not pay any money.

Well... do not get in trouble in japan and if you do run before the police comes.

I was lucky this time and learned my lesson.

Should've fled to the woods. Then gutted some innocent ginger rookie cop in the guts with the spiked catapult you built out of logs. Then you'd be king of the meat heads.

Seriously though, I read your stupid ramblings in the voice of Arnie.
