Actually, I think Japan may be right in purchasing these islands. After all, they are already Japanese (privately) owned. It is going to cause a stink though.

It would be fun to see how China reacts to this. The land of cheap labor and theft of intellectual properties. In-your-face gesture of the Japanese government by buying the islands. if it is China, the state will just steal it from a private owner.
