Does any one know if spoken word is popular in Japan or where they hold that type of thing?

Umm, well, homes, apartments, offices, coffee clatches, any place people congregate, I would suppose.

Also, the bums in the parks are very fond of the spoken word, although it is usually done en solo, which many Japanese find weird. I also find it weird, if only becasue they often answer themselves.

Does this mean I am turning Japanese?
