Much is made on this forum and others about how perverted Japanese men are, so here's you chance to have your say.

For me it all comes down to the question of consent...I don't care what two people (or more for that matter) get up to as long as no-one is being coerced into it and everyone is of legal age.

I know some would argue that many women in the sex-business are being economically coerced into selling themselves due to their financially disadvantageous positions, but I still think they have free choice, especially in a rich industrialized country like Japan. There are plenty of other jobs out there, but none of them pay so well as sex unfortunately...

Anyway, to get back on topic, I don't think it's necessarily 'wrong' or 'bad' to be a sicko so long as you only act out your fantasies with other willing and legal parties or keep it in your head.

I think the subjugation and humiliation common in J-porn and J-cartoons shows that they have more hangups, not less - but the hangups are social and they're taken out in the sexual domain. Like other aspects of Japanese life, you have near-extreme asceticism (the social conventions, the way their expected to live & work day to day, the clicheed patterns of behavior and expression they're expected to adopt) contrasted with near-extreme indulgence in selected areas (blatantly weird s&m, excrement, and rape porn, juvenile panty-viewing fetishes that most of us outgrow at 13).

The social and personal repression and compartmentalization necessary for them to get thru daily life is taken out in sexual fantasy, which like any other set of fantasies for anybody else is used to help them hold it together. Fantasizing about something else would take imagination, which your average sarariman had to give up in school. Sex, being instinctive, is the one domain that can't be taken away. Since their society is hierarchical and it's all but ok to pick on and brutalize the weak, it should come as no surprise that women and girls, perceived as being weak or inferior and possibly mirroring the J-guys own perceptions of themselves at work or in their group, are a comfy and natural target of sexual brutality.

The real Japanese miracle is how these guys can play with the equivalent of psychic/mental fire and not get burned. Now I aint no prude, and I know Japan didn't invent and doesn't monopolize weird porn or abnormal sexual fantasies (yes, I use the word abnormal consciously and intentionally), but maybe if they were allowed to keep a few fragments of their personalities and express themselves once in a while, they'd be reasonably satisfied banging their wives and gf's a few times a week, and wouldn't need to hear a young girl (or someone acting like a young girl) scream or watch her take a leak or be wrapped in plastic and beaten to get a hardon.

The problem is in our definition of normal behaviour. To the Japanese male his behaviour is normal, to the North American male with all of the associated PC junk that has been pumped into them by society this behaviour would be considered abnormal.

Of course other Asian cultures, European and Islamic cultures would have a different take on this behaviour.

If you want to change the attitudes of the typical Japanese male towards women and what western society considers unacceptable behaviour you must start with the attitudes of Japanese women.
