    Default homestay in okinawa

I really want to do a homestay in okinawa this august or september, and try to learn some japanese after all this time. Living in tokyo it is way too easy to speak english, but i don't want to go to the middle of nowhere for a month and have nothing to do. I would appreciate any info on finding a family or school somewhere in the islands. thanks!

Wwoofing is fun, but not quite the same as a homestay. I'm interested in doing a homestay in Okinawa too during my autumn vacation, but I'm having trouble finding reviews on good agencies. My language school just suggested that I contact Okinawa City International Association, but they haven't gotten back to me.
    This too shall pass...

...Genkii? Who's Genkii? And yes I noticed she started the thread in 2006, I'm sure they're still doing homestays in Okinawa.

I ended up contacting the people at http://www.homestay-in-japan.com and I'm going to Okinawa in October, so far so good, except the the email communication with my contact person is kind of slow... Anyhow, thanks for not helping I guess. :P Ha!

Homestay-in-japan.com is also my first choice for homestays. The second would be homestayweb.com
In HIJ, the families are screened before they are allowed to host foreigners.I don't knot if the same happens at homestayweb.
